One of the most capable piston-engine fighter aircraft ever produced and the last to enter service with Britain’s Fleet Air Arm, the Hawker Sea Fury represented the pinnacle of piston-engine fighter design. Introduced after the end of the Second World War, the Sea Fury would see combat against some of the early jet fighters during the Korean War, where it would perform extremely well.
The first deck landing trials commenced in the winter of 1946. The Sea Fury would remain as the Fleet Air Arms principle single-seater fighter until 1953, when it was then replaced by the jet-powered Hawker Sea Hawk.
The aircraft also saw service with a number of overseas air arms, in a variety of operational roles, including strike fighter, trainer and high-speed target towing. The aircraft also became a popular choice in the world of air racing, where the brute power and sheer speed of this magnificent aircraft saw it victorious in countless competitions.

Le Hawker Sea Fury, l'un des chasseurs à moteur à pistons les plus performants jamais construits et le dernier à entrer en service au sein de la Fleet Air Arm britannique, représentait le summum de la conception des chasseurs à moteur à pistons. Mis en service après la Seconde Guerre mondiale, le Sea Fury affronta les premiers chasseurs à réaction durant la guerre de Corée, où il se distingua par ses excellentes performances.
Les premiers essais d'appontage eurent lieu durant l'hiver 1946. Le Sea Fury demeura le principal chasseur monoplace de la Fleet Air Arm jusqu'en 1953, date à laquelle il fut remplacé par le Hawker Sea Hawk à réaction.
L'appareil fut également utilisé par plusieurs forces aériennes outre-mer, remplissant diverses missions opérationnelles, notamment chasseur-bombardier, avion d'entraînement et remorquage de cibles à grande vitesse. Il devint également un choix populaire dans le monde des courses aériennes, où sa puissance brute et sa vitesse exceptionnelle lui permirent de remporter d'innombrables compétitions.
