Appearing as a show car at the 1955 Motorama, the Eldorado Brougham was derived from the 1953 and 1954 Park Avenue and Orleans concept cars. Along with the original 1953 Eldorado, it represents one of the pinnacles of Harley Earl's artistry. With its lowered stance thanks to a new chassis, its four-headlight grille, and its sharp fins, it helped test Cadillac's aesthetic choices for the second half of the 1950s. A quintessential "dream car," it was only built from 1957 onward to compete with the Lincoln Continental Mark II, launched a year earlier.
