The Fiat L6/40 light tank was widely used by the Italian Regio Esercito during the Second World War. Designed in the late 1930s to perform advanced reconnaissance and infantry support tasks, it had a crew of two: the driver and the commander, who also operated the cannon. Entering service in 1941, it had good speed and could be used against light vehicles and lightly protected targets, while it was ineffective against more heavily armored vehicles. The main armament of the L6 consisted of a 20 mm Breda 20/65 Mod. 1935 cannon mounted in the turret and an 8 mm Breda 38 coaxial machine gun. The L6/40 light tank was used on several fronts, including North Africa, the Balkans, and the Eastern Front.

Le char léger Fiat L6/40 fut largement utilisé par l'armée italienne (Regio Esercito) durant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Conçu à la fin des années 1930 pour des missions de reconnaissance avancée et d'appui d'infanterie, il était piloté par un équipage de deux hommes : le pilote et le chef de char, qui servait également le canon. Entré en service en 1941, il était rapide et efficace contre les véhicules légers et les cibles peu protégées, mais peu performant contre les véhicules lourdement blindés. Son armement principal se composait d'un canon Breda 20/65 Mod. 1935 de 20 mm monté en tourelle et d'une mitrailleuse coaxiale Breda 38 de 8 mm. Le char léger L6/40 fut engagé sur plusieurs fronts, notamment en Afrique du Nord, dans les Balkans et sur le front de l'Est.
