The T-26 tank was a Soviet light infantry tank used during many conflicts of the 1930s as well as during World War II. It was a development of the British Vickers 6-Ton tank and is widely considered one of the most successful tank designs of the 1930s.

It was produced in greater numbers than any other tank of the period, with more than 11,000 produced. During the 1930s, the USSR developed approximately 53 variants of the T-26, including other combat vehicles based on its chassis. Twenty-three of these were mass-produced.

The T-26 was used extensively in the armies of Spain, China and Turkey. In addition, captured T-26 light tanks were used by the Finnish, German, Romanian and Hungarian armies.

Le char T-26 était un char d'infanterie léger soviétique utilisé lors de nombreux conflits des années 1930, ainsi que pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Dérivé du char britannique Vickers de 6 tonnes, il est largement considéré comme l'un des chars les plus performants des années 1930.

Il fut produit en plus grand nombre que tout autre char de l'époque, avec plus de 11 000 exemplaires. Durant les années 1930, l'URSS développa environ 53 variantes du T-26, dont d'autres véhicules de combat basés sur son châssis. Vingt-trois d'entre elles furent produites en série.

Le T-26 fut largement utilisé par les armées espagnole, chinoise et turque. De plus, des chars légers T-26 capturés furent employés par les armées finlandaise, allemande, roumaine et hongroise.
