The GMC CCKW is a 2.5 ton 6X6 U.S. Army cargo truck that saw service in World War II and the Korean War, often referred to as the "Deuce and a Half" or "Jimmy". The CCKW came in many variants, based on the open or closed cab, Long Wheel Base (LWB 353) or Short Wheel Base (SWB 352). Initially all versions were of the closed cab design (having a metal roof and doors) with all steel cargo beds. But as the war progressed an open cab version was designed that had fixed “half doors” and a canvas top/sides, with the steel bed being replaced by a wooden one to conserve steel. The wood bed proved unsatisfactory and a “composite” bed with steel sides and framing but with wooden slats for the bed was developed. Later on the wood/steel composite bed was replaced by an all steel composite bed.

Le GMC CCKW est un camion cargo 6x6 de 2,5 tonnes de l'armée américaine, utilisé pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale et la guerre de Corée. Souvent surnommé « Deuce and a Half » ou « Jimmy », il existait en plusieurs versions, selon la configuration : cabine ouverte ou fermée, empattement long (LWB 353) ou court (SWB 352). Initialement, toutes les versions étaient à cabine fermée (avec toit et portes métalliques) et plateau de chargement entièrement en acier. Au fil du conflit, une version à cabine ouverte fut conçue, dotée de demi-portes fixes et d'une bâche (côtés et toit), le plateau en acier étant remplacé par un plateau en bois afin d'économiser l'acier. Ce plateau en bois s'avérant insatisfaisant, un plateau composite, avec côtés et structure en acier et lattes de bois, fut développé. Plus tard, ce plateau composite bois/acier fut remplacé par un plateau composite entièrement en acier.
