Between 1974 and 1981, Kia Motors manufactured the Kia Brisa, a variant of the second-generation Familia, at its Sohari plant in Gwangmyeong, South Korea.
Production began in 1973 with a pickup truck, the Brisa B-1000. This was followed by production of the passenger version. A total of 31,017 Brisa passenger vehicles were produced, and 75,987 including pickup versions.
After the arrival of military dictator Chun Doo-hwan and his decision to implement forced industrial consolidation, Kia had to abandon passenger cars to focus on commercial vehicles.[5]
Kia made its first export in 1975 with the delivery of 31 Brisa-1000s to Qatar. A total of 1,526 units were sold outside of South Korea.
Kia will also produce the Grand Familia/818 (1272cc) version, which was the basis for the Brisa II and the K303.

C'est en livrant 31 Brisa-1000 au Qatar que Kia réalisa sa première exportation, en 1975. Au total, 1526 unités seront vendues hors de Corée du Sud.
Kia produira également la version Grand Familia/818 (1272cm3), à l'origine de la Brisa II et de la K303.
