More Informations :

The USS Midway (CV-41)—formerly CVB-41 or CVA-41—was a United States Navy aircraft carrier and the lead ship of the Midway class. The third ship to bear the name USS Midway, it entered service just days after the end of World War II and saw action in the Vietnam and Gulf Wars. From 1973 to 1991, it was forward-deployed to Yokosuka, Japan. Extensive conversions and modernizations significantly altered the carrier's appearance over the course of its service; notably, its flight deck—originally straight in 1945—was converted to an angled deck in 1957 and later to an extended (cantilevered) deck in 1970.

In April 1992, after nearly 47 years of service, the USS Midway was transferred to the reserve fleet. Since 2004, it has been open to the public as the USS Midway Museum in San Diego, California.
