Ferdinand Porsche, a German automotive engineer, developed his famous “people’s car”, the VW Beetle on direct Adolf Hitler’s impulse. During the Second World War, the vehicle was produced in large numbers and in various verisons and modofications, for both the military and the civil users. The Beetle had either two (rear) wheel drive or even four wheel drive. Besides the civil users, the Beetle saw military service with the Wehrmach, Afrika-Korps, Waffen-SS, the police and state authorities of the Third Reich. In 1941, a pick up version was also built known as the Typ 825. The body of the original Typ 82 version was modified and mounted on a four wheel drive chassis, giving a vehicle for a crew of two and offering a large load area. Later, also a type with a box-shaped superstructure was manufactured under the designation Typ 83.
The rear load area resin parts, photo-etched parts and decal sheet acompany the kit’s styrene parts. The instruction sheet offers two colour schemes, the first being in sand overall, the other having heavy mottles of green and chockolate brown over the standard sand as the vehicle was operated later in the war.

Ferdinand Porsche, ingénieur automobile allemand, a développé sa célèbre « voiture du peuple », la Coccinelle Volkswagen, sous l'impulsion directe d'Adolf Hitler. Pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, le véhicule fut produit en grand nombre et décliné en diverses versions et modifications, pour les militaires et les civils. La Coccinelle était disponible en version deux roues motrices (propulsion) ou quatre roues motrices. Outre les particuliers, elle fut utilisée par la Wehrmacht, l'Afrika Korps, la Waffen-SS, la police et les autorités du Troisième Reich. En 1941, une version pick-up, la Typ 825, fut également construite. La carrosserie de la Typ 82 d'origine fut modifiée et montée sur un châssis à quatre roues motrices, offrant ainsi un véhicule biplace et un vaste espace de chargement. Plus tard, une version à structure cubique fut également produite sous la désignation Typ 83.
Les pièces en résine de l'espace de chargement arrière, les pièces photo-découpées et la planche de décalcomanies accompagnent les pièces en polystyrène du kit. La notice d'utilisation propose deux schémas de couleurs : le premier est entièrement sable, le second présente de fortes marbrures vertes et brun chocolat sur le sable standard, car le véhicule a été utilisé plus tard pendant la guerre.
